The Summer GMRAS Race will be held in Maquoketa, Iowa. This is an unsupported race designed to use your canoe as the transition area (TA). Every piece of required gear (bikes included), food, and clothing will be housed in your canoe. The canoe will act as your TA throughout the entire race. The start of the race is on private property. Gear will be loaded at the starting point the evening before on Friday, August 16; at this time, you will be responsible for setting up your canoe with your team's bicycles, and all the food, gear, and clothing that you will need for the entire race. Canoes will be manned and watched overnight and at each transition point. Camping is available on a first come first serve basis at the check-in spot, Horse Shoe Pond Park, Maquoketa. Additionally, there are hotels available, please reserve rooms in advance. On the morning of Saturday, August 16, you will be bussed from the designated area at Horse Shoe Pond Park. Bus leaves at 5:15AM and arrives on site in Canton at 5:45. Race begins at 6AM. Rest Rooms are located at the start of the race; restrooms and shower facilities available at the finish in Horse Shoe Pond Park.
